Edvard Hagerup Grieg (*15 de junio de 1843 en Bergen, † 4 de septiembre de 1907 en Bergen), Edvard Grieg para abreviar (a veces también se encuentra como Edward o Eduard Grieg), fue un compositor y pianista noruego del periodo romántico creador de melodías tan conocidas como In the Hall of the Mountain King y Solvejg's Song.
Grieg, cuya actividad compositiva se centró principalmente en la música de cámara y Klaviermusik mentiras, supo -al igual que su colega ruso de la misma época, Rimsky-Korsakov- combinar hábilmente recursos estilísticos contemporáneos del romanticismo tardío con elementos de la música folclórica.
Sus canciones con textos de Heine, Ibsen y Goethe, el ciclo Haugtussa, op. 67 y tres obras corales junto con las coloridas obras orquestales completan su Œuvre. Estas últimas incluyen música incidental, suites, dos sinfonías y el Concierto para piano y orquesta en la menor, op. 16, su único concierto para piano que Grieg completó.
