Todas las partituras de Ludwig van Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven (bautizado el 17 de diciembre de 1770 en Bonn, † 26 de marzo de 1827 en Viena) se trasladó a Viena a los 22 años para tender un puente desde el clasicismo vienés al romanticismo a través de su desarrollo compositivo. Beethoven pasó por altibajos tanto económicos como de salud; el joven pianista, que impresionaba sobre todo por su talento para la improvisación libre, tuvo que dejar de tocar el piano a partir de los 28 años debido a la disminución progresiva de su capacidad auditiva.
Y fue durante esta época difícil cuando compuso algunas de las obras más importantes de su Œuvre, como las seis primeras de sus nueve sinfonías, tres conciertos para piano, su famosa Concierto para violín op. 61 y los Cuartetos de cuerda op. 59 nos. 1-3, op. 74 y op. 95.
La obra de Beethoven abarca casi todos los géneros. Creó nueve sinfonías, que incluían coros por primera vez en la historia del género (el coro de la Novena Sinfonía se basaba en la oda de F. Schiller An die Freude es el himno oficial de la Unión Europea en versión instrumental desde 1985), seis conciertos para piano, otras seis obras concertantes, tres oberturas, la ópera Leonore (que finalmente se publicó en tres versiones como Fidelio), dos ballets y cinco obras incidentales, el oratorio Cristo en el Monte de los Olivos op. 85, dos misas y cuatro cantatas, una colección de cuartetos y tríos de cuerda, cuartetos y tríos con piano, sonatas para violín y violonchelo y otras obras de música de cámara, 32 sonatas para piano y otras obras para piano, así como un gran número de canciones, incluido el maravilloso ciclo de canciones An die ferne Geliebte op. 98.
