Bertold Hummel: As a composer I feel obliged to the community I live in. I always try to make a humble contribution in attempting to make the world a better and more humane place. The triangle composer-performer-listener is a continuous challenge for me. The 'l'art pour l'art' point of view has never appealed to me.
