Commissioned by the Nova Jazz Orchestra in St. Paul, MN, 'A Time of Reckoning' is a piano feature, with additional solo space for guitar or vibes. This chart continues the long tradition of pieces based on the Dies Irae chant, with a hard driving feel in the rhythm section and great ensemble writing. A great chart for getting your woodwinds going on doubles, as the parts are not too technical. Woodwinds: soprano, flute, clarinet, alto, bass clarinet. Trumpets are in flugels, but the parts will work on trumpet as well. Med up with a two feel (h=116). Trpt to E above staff.
