From the pen of Jerry Gray for the Glenn Miller USAAF Orchestra, this up-tempo swing chart features the piano, (originally Mel Powell) as well as the drums in the shout chorus. This chart is essentially the same as the civilian band's version, except that the Piano solo takes the place of the original Tenor solo. A classic Miller technique is used to propel this number - unison saxes with brass punches providing rhythmic support, with the melody inverted later on to the brass, with sax figures backing. A wonderful middle passage of two trumpet pairs playing counterbalancing lines, one set open, one pair with fan hats, and both backed by glissing trombones and fill-phrased saxes is quite unique. A must for anyone's library. Alto 2 and Tenor 1 double Clarinets, with Baritone doubling Alto.
