Nathaniel Adderley

Cyclops

Originally recorded by Cannonball Adderley on his album Domination, Cyclops is one of those charts that will make your audiences bob their heads and tap their feet. This tune grooves! Set as a medium-slow funky boogaloo, Oliver Nelson scores the melody to feature alto and trumpet. There is solo space for alto, trumpet and tenor. This charts comes to a roar at the end as the full ensemble responds to the alto and trumpet melody calls. A fresh, must-have for your big band library! 5-4-4-4
