As the title suggests, it is a straight ahead swinger from start to finish. There is a unique rhythm section intro (with optional flute) followed by the band's statement of the melody and a large sax soli. Solos are designated for any rhythm instrument plus alto sax, tenor sax and trumpet. Following the solo section is an open rhythm section improvisation which can be constructed however you wish. Lastly, a three part contrapuntal section builds to a strong shout section all the way to the end. You will really enjoy this new, fresh and exciting composition. The high notes (optional) are high concert Eb and F.
