his is a great chart with several different sections in a hard bop feel, a funk groove and a funk/swing feel. There is a funk tenor solo section and a cookin' swing (hard bop) trumpet solo section, with a challenging tutti section. There is lots of room for solos. This chart is a great first-set closer or opener for the second set. Soloist: trumpet and tenor saxophone. Trumpet highest note D5 (two octaves and a major second above middle C). 4 trumpets, 4 trombones (the fourth being a bass trombone), 2 altos, 2 tenors, 1 baritone sax. Rhythm: piano, bass, and drums (guitar optional). No doubles.
