The elusive bass feature makes an appearance! On this medium fast swing chart bassed (get it?) on 'I Got Rhythm' changes, your bass player trades with the sax section on the quirky Thad Jones-ish melody. The open solo section can be used for any soloist of your choice, but most of the heat goes to the bass player, who also gets to trade phrases with the brass too. The saxes get a sprightly soli in there before the entire band romps through the inevitable shout chorus (it is a good one though!). The bass player gets some final statements in before we close things out. 5 Saxes (Alto 1 on Soprano Sax), 4 Trumpets (Tpt 1 high note=High F#), 4 Trombone (trb 4=Bass Trb), Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums. Medium Difficult.
