Commissioned by the Illinois Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble and performed by several all state ensembles to date, this chart is an alto feature. Like the title, the chart begins as a ballad and leads to a slow contemporary straight eighth groove ala The Crusaders or Joe Sample. Developmentally the chart moves between the ballad and bossa-like groove freely, taking the listener through many musical transitions. No doubles.
