This anthology focuses above all on Hermann Leopoldi's enormous compositional range: Whether chanson (,,Händereichen"), slow foxtrot (,,In den kleinen Seitengassen"), a song reminiscent of Brecht/Weill's stylistics ("Wo der Teufel Gute Nacht sagt") or the surprising stylistic mix of tango and Viennese song (,,32 Groschen") - the respective musical genres are not only touched upon in a quoting manner, but are captured deeply and thoroughly throughout, whereby the settings of the brilliant practitioner Leopoldi nevertheless always remain performance-friendly. The ironic Viennese song ("Erst kommt Österreich" and "Ich bin ein Durchschnittswiener") is included as well as the indulgent ("Im Prater ist Musik"), the moving "Buchenwälder Marsch" as well as the bitter cabaret number "An der schönen roten Donau". The selection is rounded off by well-known hits such as "In einem kleinen Café in Hernals", "I bin a stiller Zecher", "Powidltatschkerln", "Schön ist so ein Ringelspiel" or "Am besten hat's ein Fixangestellter" and many more.
