Whims is a composition for string quartet consisting of four short movements. Between the four parts (Sadness, Joy, Sephardic Lullaby and Humoresque) Atar Arad created a connection by using the last note of each movement as the opening note for the next part. With this piece he wants to allow each quartet member a solo moment while accompanying the other voices.
