The rediscovery of the three flute quartets op.99 is an event. The tonal flair, the inimitable melodic melting of the movements are unparalleled.

Rarely has writing for flute quartet been so beguilingly beautiful and ingratiating in a minor key. The pre-Romantic jewel needs no recommendation for permanent appropriation.

This work in C major is the crowning finale of the edition of all 11 extant flute quartets. They WILL become common property for this instrumentation in the near future.

The '4 Lieder' of the Swabian Edele breathe a breath of Biedermeil charm. They are masterfully modeled on the romantic-programmatic ideals of their time.

A weighty contribution by cellist Dotzauer to the rare oboe quartet literature. Thanks to its melodic flow and the lightly swinging rondo finale, hardly any wishes remain unfulfilled.
