Sydney Hodkinson

Papillons Book I

Subtitled A Serenade of songs without words; Hodkinson's first set of Papillons was; he says; intended as a companion piece to the famous Debussy Sonate for the same forces. Expect no comparisions of the two works; however; as this set of seven 'character-trio bagatelles' is purely Hodkinson's own. Completed in 1984; Papillons; Book I went on to garner second prize in the 1984 international composition contest sponsored by The American Harp Society. For advanced performers.
