In a group of compositions from the enormous stock of surviving Vivaldi manuscript sources, ''The Red Priest'' assigns unequivocably leading roles to the archlute, to the theorbo and to the mandolin: two trios for violin, ''leuto'' and basso continuo, a concerto in D major for two violins, ''leuto'' and basso continuo, another in D minor for viola d'amore and ''leuto'', a concerto for eleven instruments and string orchestra, in which the two theorbos and two mandolins have a concertante part; a concerto for mandolin, and finally, a double concerto for two mandolins.
