Ēriks Ešenvalds

In Paradisum

With "In Paradisum", celebrated Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds has created a profoundly moving masterpiece of timeless beauty. Scored for mixed choir, viola, and violoncello, this evocative work is set to the traditional Latin antiphon from the Requiem Mass and was composed in loving memory of Irma Ešenvalde (1922–2012). Ešenvalds masterfully intertwines the warm, soaring lines of the solo strings with luminous, expressive choral textures, creating a serene and otherworldly soundscape filled with profound solace. Published by Musica Baltica, this score is an extraordinary centerpiece for ambitious choral concerts, sacred services, and memorial events. Immerse your ensemble and audience in a truly transcendent musical experience.
