The chants, which are included in the collection Mateh Ahron, are inspired by liturgical style and character. The organ may accompany instead of a quartet. So the movements can be performed in various versions: as a choral work or soloistic with accompaniment by the organ, as an arrangement for an a cappella mixed choir or as a purely instrumental version. The complete collection contains 40 songs and was first published in 1893. This present edition includes the numbers 22 to 40 and is a reprint of the origin.
