Descripción de la:
The Rising of the Sun for SATB choir (divisi) and organ (duration 4 minutes) was commissioned by Repton School, in memory of Richard Bradburn, and is a setting of part of Psalm 113. It begins with a solitary bird greeting the approaching dawn, and builds to a dance-like song of praise.
Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.
Commissioned by Repton School, in memory of Richard Bradburn. First performed by Repton School Chapel Choir on 24 January 2024 with Oliver Walker (conductor) and Roger Owens (organ).
