This book is ideal as a beginner's guide to position playing and is complete with piano accompaniment. Small World is meant as an addition to beginners lessons. It starts with open strings and leads to the fourth position. Each new position is introduced by two pieces which serve as support for learning a new position. Making music from the start and playing together with the piano are central mottoes of this book and the double bass part switches between melody and accompaniment. Styles and characters are intentionally different and each piece tells a little story.
