Descripción de la:
Edition Butorac continues its series of new editions of Ludwig van Beethoven's sonatas for piano and violin, with his eighth sonata in G major, composed in 1802. The dedicatee was Tsar Alexander I of Russia.
Our main source was the first edition published in Vienna in 1803 by the Bureau d'Arts et d'Industrie. In case of uncertainty, a manuscript from 1803 by an unnamed copyist was consulted.
The violin part was edited by Tomislav Butorac, always respecting Beethoven's original phrasing; the fingering of the piano part is by the editor Heiko Stralendorff.
