The main material and inspiration for the composition are based on the hymn „Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme“ (Wake up the voice calls us) (Philipp Nicolai, 1599). Inspired by this theme, my Organ Fantasy was created in 2006, with the basic intention of mysteriously and secretly resonating with the melodic material of the song. Within the piece, the „call“ or motif „Wake up, you city of Jerusalem“ was of great importance. From this motif, further calls arose as well as a new theme, which forms the basis for the duo version of this „Chorale Fantasy“ in 2001.
