Written in 1984 for clarinetist Ross Powell and the Caruth Auditorium at Southern Methodist University; Chalumeau prefers a 'large; resonant space.' It is scored for one onstage clarinet (unamplified); with a second clarinet (amplified) preferably situated behind the audience and raised.
