Descripción de la:

  • Acompañamiento: Piano
Iwan Müller, clarinetist, composer and reformer of the clarinet, was born in Reval (Russia) to German parents. Ivan Müller received his first employment in St. Petersburg. In 1809 he went to Paris and was engaged, among other things, in instrument making. In 1812 he presented his new clarinet with 13 round keys, the 'clarinette omnitonique', on which all keys can be played, to a commission. Although the assessment was negative, his innovation prevailed over the next few years. In 1820 Müller went first back to Russia, then to Germany (Kassel, Berlin). He gave concerts in various countries and was finally court musician in Bückeburg. In Le rêve (The Dream), Ivan Müller shows himself to be an accomplished composer in the use of melody and harmony. The piece appeared in 1845 (record number 7855).
