The 'Hörbilder' was edited by the clarinetist Irith Gabriely, who has arranged all of the pieces with rich musical diversity in order to create a challenging interpretation. Performance possibilities and means of expression have been derived with much differentiation while utilizing the extensive pitch range of the clarinet as well as its broad range of dynamics. Individual pieces can be played separately or easily combined into small groups for recitals, concerts, contests and as interludes between readings or as an acoustic contribution to an exhibition.

Preface
The score at hand was edited by the clarinetist Irith Gabriely, who has arranged all of the 'Hörbilder' with rich musical diversity in order to create a challenging interpretation.
Performance possibilities and means of expression have been derived with much differentiation while utilizing the extensive pitch range of the clarinet as well
as its broad range of dynamics from the most extremely soft, barely audible tones (pppp) to the the enormously loud accents (sffz-ffff).
Individual pieces can be played separately or easily combined into small groups for recitals, concerts, contests and as interludes between readings or as an acoustic contribution to an exhibition.
In pieces without bar lines, an accidental applies only to the pitch it immediately precedes.
Notes, alternatives: Lautstärke = dynamics or on a radio - volume level, however: dynamics, i.e. not in music = force, motion, movement or momentum, agogics is a correct musicological term, rubato is more normal.

About the edition
Basically, I prefer variable compositional forms, so this edition also presents all fifteen titles without any expressive markings, ensuring there are no limitations on any performer’s creativity. In this way, the 'Hörbilder' present an opportunity for creating one’s own interpretation with alternative meters, tempi, dynamics, momentum, phrasing, rubato, and a completely personal musical expressivity.
