The first concerts are very special experiences for every student. The intense time of preparation, the mixture of anxiety and joyful anticipation, the concentration during the performance, the applause of the audience and the pride after the successful performance. All these impressions stick in the memory and are often formative for the entire further development. In this context, the choice of the 'right' performance piece is of crucial importance: it should be technically and musically manageable, have a good effect and generate joy during practice.

The edition My First Concert contains 25 easy and appealing pieces for soprano recorder and piano from 5 centuries, mostly original works as well as some arrangements. Not only works from the Renaissance, Baroque and Early Classical periods have been included, but also more recent compositions, especially from the popular music field with its various facets. The range extends from small dance movements by Attaingnant and Susato to sonata movements by Telemann and Loeillet to the well-known melody from the Sendung mit der Maus.

Some of the easy pieces are playable after the second year of lessons. The somewhat more challenging pieces can then be worked on in further lessons. The booklet offers a wide selection of literature for auditions, concerts and competitions such as 'Jugend musiziert' and is an ideal complement to any recorder school.

The enclosed CD provides a first sound impression and thus facilitates the practice of the pieces. With the separately recorded piano accompaniment, you can also play the pieces without a piano accompanist.
