Perséides may be performed on any recorder with the fingerings of sopran or tenor recorder, whichever the instrument may be. Dynamics are free in the three pieces. Each of them may be played separately. If, however, the whole work is to be played, then the pieces must be performed in the order given.- Perséides 1958: the number of repetitions of each set of bars (from 2 to 5 according to the choice of the musician) may change during the execution.- Perséides 1996: the 'slap tongue' effects are sounding without multiphonics.- Perséides 2003: this piece may be played by a solo recorder (or any solo instrument) from bar 16 or from the beginning accompanied by one, two or three (prerecorded or not) instruments according to the choice of the musicians. The other instruments will play at any octave and eventually transpose according to the key resulting of the recorder used.Michel Lysight
