for treble recorder & b. c. after the sonata for transverse flute in E Major BWV 1035, arrangede by Klaus Hofmann (Herbipol.). Bach gave the recorder many beautiful tasks, but he did not leave behind a solo sonata for the instrument. As can be seen, the semitone transposition transforms the transverse flute sonata into a perfect recorder sonata, which differs in no way from an original composition for the instrument and sheds all traces of its former designation.
