This piece is intended to evoke the image of a solitary Native American flutist playing playing from a mountaintop to the valley below. The upper register of the alto flute conveys the elusiveness of the wind. Scored for alto flute and piano, but also includes a part for C flute. Very programmatic. 2002 NFA Newly Published Music Competition Honorable Mention.
