Descripción de la:
Influenced by Zen Buddhism, Japanese paintings often are paintings of misty landscapes which are of great poetic beauty. At the same time, they show that things, according to Buddhist teachings, do not really exist. They are made from 'emptiness' or 'nothingness' in which they disappear again, thus being part of a process and without a firm identity. Schultz' short piece can be understood as a musical realization of these Buddhist teachings. In this piece, specific and prominent figures appear from vague, quite shapeless and therefore almost blurred lines and disappear again. The two short themes are intertwined at the point of culmination, yet disappear again and again in the misty landscape.
