Cyril Scott (1879-1970) was a late Romantic period English composer, writer, and poet whose style was strongly influenced by impressionism and made use of adventurous (for the time) harmonic language and free rhythm. This piece, originally written for piano, has been arranged for flute and piano by Arthur Ephross, and is a wonderful selection for the student interested in exploring more expressive music.
