Charles (or Charles) Keller (1784-1855) was a gifted and esteemed flutist and composer who wrote a practical school of technique and performance for aspiring flutists. The fantasies presented here as a reprint may have been published around 1844. They are exquisitely set pieces that can certainly be compared to similar solo works for flute from the first half of the 19th century.
