Ein klangvolles Stück für Alt-Saxophon und Orgel. Das Marianische Triptychon nimmt Bezug auf drei neutestamentliche Szenen, in denen jeweils eine Jesus nahestehende Frau mit dem Namen Maria im Mittelpunkt steht. Im ersten Stück des Triptychons handelt es sich dabei um Maria aus Bethanien, im zweiten um die Mutter Jesu und im dritten um dessen Jüngerin Maria Magdalena (die freilich auch schon im biblischen Vers zum zweiten Stück erwähnt wird). Bei Aufführungen sollten die betreffenden Bibelstellen möglichst im Programm abgedruckt oder vorgelesen werden.
A tuneful piece for alto saxophone and organ. The Marianische Triptychon (Marian triptych) makes reference to three scenes from the New Testament, in each of which the main focus lies on a woman close to Jesus by the name of Mary. The first piece of the triptych concerns Mary of Bethany, the second the mother of Jesus and the third, his disciple Mary Magdalene, who is in fact already mentioned in the biblical verse upon which the second piece is based. When performed, the relevant bible passages should if possible be either printed in the programme or read aloud.
