This fantasia for trumpet and piano, in free form and three short, linked movements, is organised round a nostalgic theme that will return from time to time throughout the piece like a leitmotiv. An intimist melody, in which a dialogue with the piano is gradually constructed, is followed by a charming jazz waltz and a lively ragtime.
