A Funky Jubilee was written in 2022, for the hundredth anniversary of the fire department music of Langwies (Austria), the home band of composer Fritz Neuböck.
100 Bars for 100 years, one hundred bars of funk music for a very youthful band, that was exactly the plan. In "A Funky Jubilee" all registers of the concert band are equally challenged, and towards the end of the work, moreover, baritone and trumpet step into the spotlight as soloists.
This composition was created with the help of a contribution from the Music Investment Fund, an initiative of Buma/Stemra in cooperation with Voi(C)e, the Copyright Interests Federation and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in the Netherlands.
