The Norwegian composer Olav Berg (b. 1949) has been a full time composer since 1982. His most wellknown work is Poseidon for orchestra from 1982, a work that have given him critical acclaims both in Norway and abroad. This work Blowing is written originally for windband in 1980. It was comisioned by The Royal Norwegian Navy Band as a part of the bands 160th anniversary the same year.
