Descripción de la:
The Austrian composer Thomas Asanger chose the title BREAK-UP (BREAKUP) for his stirring opening work in the RUNDEL eXplora series, which means 'to break open' in German. This word can be interpreted in the context of this composition both in the sense of 'breaking up old structures as well as in the sense of a 'departure into a new time. Asanger was inspired by the increasingly clear mood of change in the world of brass band music. Especially among the younger generation, wind music enjoys great popularity and it is precisely this youth that gives wind music new wind and fresh energy. The literature for wind instruments has also developed enormously in the last 20 years and combines tradition with modern elements. More and more new, exciting works are being written especially for youth orchestras, which is also reflected in the composition competition of the Austrian Wind Band Youth (ÖBJ), which aims to expand the repertoire of original works for youth wind orchestras. With his composition BREAK-UP, which musically describes the phenomenon of youthful enthusiasm for music and the spirit of optimism of a new generation of musicians, Thomas Asanger won this competition in the BJ level (easy to medium difficulty). BREAK-UP is dedicated to the youth wind orchestra of the municipality of Perg, the composer's hometown.
