An imaginative piece that highlights every section of the band, Cloudburst opens with a bright cheerful theme in the high winds, answered by the brass. After a sudden flash of lightening, thunder and rain (courtesy of the percussion section), the storm builds in excitement and intensity until the brass steps in with a majestic chordal theme. The musical downpour soon subsides as the playful theme ends this dramatic selection.
