Stephen L. Melillo (*1957) dedicates his life to his own philosophy, which he calls 'stormworld'. His works refer to the contrast between bad and good - between suffering, darkness, threat and war on the one hand and redemption, light, freedom and peace on the other. The task of an artist is to bring the good and the beautiful to the bad world. Stephen Melillo works with elements from jazz and also incorporates aspects such as mathematics and physics into his music. Thus, in his compositions he also uses, among other things, the harmony of the spheres, which refers to the proportions of planetary distances and to other findings of number symbolism. One of the most important representatives of this combination of mathematics and music was Johann Sebastian Bach. Stephen Melillo deeply reveres the baroque composer genius and therefore dedicates FOR THE LOVE OF JOHANN to him, which is based on a musical theme by Bach.
