Descripción de la:
German composer Felix Mendelssohn composed his opus 24, 'Ouverture für Harmoniemusik' (Overture or Winds) for the court orchestra of Bad Doberan near Rostock his. He was only 15 years and it already demonstrates his musical maturity at that time. The work is set in sonata form and begins with a slow, highly melodic introduction that leads into a quick allegro filled with counterpoint and polyphonic imitation. After his death, after several revisions by Mendelssohn himslef, it was finally published in 1852 as 'Ouverture für Harmoniemusik'.
Dutch arranger Rens van Leeuwen transcribed this overture for a modern Symphonic Band.
