This composition depicts some episodes within a typical day in the life of a kitten: the bored napping on a fluffy pillow (adagio), the funny and faltering movements that follow the awakening (rock), and the excited playing with a ball of wool (fugue). In what could be described as a compositional game, the author grabs the attention of the listener by alternating moments of serene lyricism, rhythmic power, and contrapuntal geometries.
