Descripción de la:
Russian composer Anton Arensky (1861-1906) composed his ballet Nuits d'Egypte, based on Théophile Gautier's novella 'Une nuit de Cléopatre', in 1900. The ballet was programmed by Serge Diaghilev at his Paris Saisons Russes wich became a great success.
The overture from the ballet is a beautiful opening piece which also is a part of the suite Arensky made of the ballet. Dutch arranger Marcel Baars transcribed the entire suite for Symphonic Wind Orchestra (BTM590). Besides this suite Baton Music publishes also the overture in this seperate edition.
