Descripción de la:
The composition, in three movements, wants to represent in music different aspects of the French city of Mainvilliers, not far from Chartres and its magnificent cathedral.
The first movement, with a sometimes solemn and majestic character, was inspired by some events in the history of the city: the arrival of the Germans in the fifth century, the wine activity in the eighteenth century which, at the time of the French revolution, came to count up to 90 winemakers and, finally, the construction of the town hall in 1902, called 'la Folie'.
The second movement evokes a walk through the streets of the city to discover the different districts, the church of Saint-Hilaire with its magnificent stained glass windows and the park of the former castle of La Garenne.
The third movement illustrates some festive moments of the city, such as the celebration of Saint-Hilaire where, for 3 days in June, the population joins the musicians in joy and good humor and also the twinning with the German city of Römerberg.
