Descripción de la:
The work consists of 5 sections in which the author describes a visit to Dogliani, a village in the province of Cuneo, best known for its wines, including the famous 'Dolcetto'. The visit starts at the castle, which stands on a hilltop overlooking the village. The musical elements, which are developed later on, are presented in this section. Descending towards the village, the busy social and cultural centre, the rhythm and melodies become brighter and full of life. A sweet theme, played by the oboe, introduces a meditative pause: thoughts turn to the past and the relentless passing of time. The grape harvest takes place in a traditional festive atmosphere. The theme in this section is inspired by the 'Inno a Dogliani' composed by Ubaldo Viotti, formerly the local bandmaster. To end the piece, the village theme is presented again, this time in a formal, commemorative context, emphasising the importance of the event marking the 115th anniversary since the founding of the Filarmonica 'Il Risveglio' di Dogliani.
