Dona nobis pacem' (Latin for 'Grant us peace') is a phrase in the Agnus Dei section of the mass that has been appropriated for many musical works. In this composition, the simple theme is introducted by any soloist in the band at the beginning before working through multiple variations, and ending with a rousing finish.
