La Sonnambula is the first of Bellini's major opera's. The first performance took place in 1831 at the Teatro Carcano in Milan.The aria Vi ravviso, o luoghi ameni is sung in the first act: Count Rodolfo visits the place in which he spent a happy childhood; virtually a land of lost contact. The aria demands suavity and smoothness of vocal line. (Bass and Concert Band)
