Descripción de la:
The Missa in c was so dear to Mozart's heart that he cited it as 'proof of the reality of my promise' to 'heyrate' the beloved Constanze and complete the only half-finished mass.
At the same time, one of Mozart's greatest masterpieces remained a torso. A new addition by the Dutch music theorist, arranger and musicologist Clemens Kemme, creatively and profoundly grounded in respect for the composition, closes this gap in the work, thus fulfilling Mozart's promise after more than 200 years.
Breitkopf & Härtel publishes this version complete with performance material, piano reduction and study score. The edition is based on a careful, new sifting of the sources for the completed parts and offers
> additions exclusively when presented with authentic material
> new orchestration of the two 'Credo' movements following Handel and Bach as well as Mozart's own music e.g. aria 'Se il padre perdei' (Idomeneo)
> Reconstruction of the double-choir 'Sanctus' according to secondary sources and models by Caldara and J. Chr. Bach
> added parts are recognizable at first sight in the study score by gray screening
> preparation of the edition in close cooperation with Frans Brüggen
> first performance of the version in 2006 by Brüggen with many subsequent performances among others by the Bavarian Radio Choir under Peter Dijkstra (at the same time CD production).
