4 Horns in F, 2 Trumpets in Bb, 3 Trombones, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (3 players: Tam-tam, Glockenspiel, Xylophone, Side Drum, Cymbals, Bass Drum)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass)
A magnificent orchestration by Peter Lawson of what is probably Bach's best-known work for organ which he wrote sometime between 1703 and 1707. A different orchestral transcription (made in the 1920s byLeopold Stokowski) was used in the 1940 Disney film 'Fantasia'.
