Descripción de la:
I wrote the work, under the impression of drama and inner excitement, after the war in 2020, which brought tremendous suffering to the region. Towards the end of the piece, the expressive theme transforms into a motif of the Armenian composer, poet, priest and musicologist Komitas (1869-1935): „It‘s spring, it‘s snowing…“.
The composition was composed on the theme of the medieval hymn „Dies irae“. „Dies irae“ is sometimes referred to as a death sequence. In the 13th century it was first set to music as a sequence of a late form of Gregorian chant and in this form it was part of the Requiem. The treatment of the theme, the rhythmic-melodic arrangements framed with the expressive melismatics give the piece a highly dramatic character.
