These 50 bagatelles for piano form a versatile set of short, beautiful and accessible pieces. The compositions bear characteristics of both the Baroque and the Classicist styles. They make frequent use of counterpoint (in particular tonal counterpoint) and all kinds of keys and tempos are used. This may make them more suitable for the technically intermediate pianist than for a beginning pianist. They can also serve as teaching material in a didactic context.
