Stephen Heller

Ballade No. 3 D Minor Op. 115

It is absolutely without reason that Stephen Heller lives in the shadows both in terms of concert life and piano lessons even though the pianist, who was born in Budapest in 1813 and died in Paris in 1888, was one of the great virtuosos of his time and knew Chopin, Liszt and Berlioz. Our newly engraved editions of the two ballads in B minor and D minor invite you to an encounter with the work by this Romantic whose 200th birthday will be celebrated by the musical world in 2013. The two one-movement ballads are suitable for concert performances and music lessons, demonstrating his ability as a master of the small form.
